Aromatherapy Inhaler can Treat Nausea

A new aromatherapy inhaler, called QueaseEase aromatic inhaler, is being used to help control nausea, according an article, published on in the Sun-Sentinel, Feb. 25, 2010.

The article suggests the inhaler is particularly effective in treating nausea in pregnant women and cancer patients with nausea from chemotherapy.

One pregnant woman quoted in the story said the inhaler stopped her nausea for about four hours and that smells that bothered her before the inhaler no longer did.

Aromatherapy Can Enhance Learning

Aromatherapy BottlesIncorporating the sense of smell can help children learn, according to an article in the Huffington Post Feb 5, 2010 by Margaret Hyde.

Hyde is the author of the children's book series "Mo's Nose" that incorporates scent into reading and learning.

“Researching and creating these scent-filled adventures, I discovered that the sense of smell is a powerful and overlooked part of how we learn, experience and remember,” wrote Hyde. “Smells create ‘Proustian Memories,’ which are long-term memories that elicit strong emotional responses.”
