Sulfur

Sulfur is necessary for the formation of body tissues, hair, nails and cartilage. It also acts as one of the body’s detoxifiers and aids in bile secretion in the liver.

Sulfur is commonly found in food and thus deficiency is rare. Sulfur deficiency generally occurs only in conjunction with protein deficiency.

There is no recommended dietary allowance for sulfur. Most people get all they need from their diet.
